The DIAPHONIA consortium recently joined the JPI Oceans final meeting on Underwater Noise in the Marine Environment, held at the University of Alicante, together with partner projects Pure Wind, DeuteroNoise, SONORA, and ORCHESTRA

Over three days of plenary sessions, workshops, breakout discussions, and a field visit, DIAPHONIA presented the outcomes of its three-year programme to fellow projects, JPI Oceans, and directly to TG Noise—the MSFD Technical Group on Underwater Noise, which is currently beginning the revision phase of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive to integrate the latest scientific evidence on the impacts of underwater noise.

The meeting also included updates on the High Ambition Coalition for a Quiet Ocean, the UN Ocean Decade, forthcoming EU Horizon funding opportunities, and future collaboration pathways within JPI Oceans.
